The shipyard has achieved a great success in civil shipbuilding, whose share is about to be increased up to 40%. Naval shipbuilding shall have the 60% share.
Yantar Shipyard (Kaliningrad) is running at 80-90% of its capacity, said Eduard Efimov, the Shipyard CEO in his
interview to Interfax.
According to Efimov, the shipyard has a stock of orders for at least three years. However, the 2017 year was a turning year for the Yantar Shipyard. "It is important that we continued our Shipyard modernization efforts and have achieved certain success in that area. We introduced new equipment and technologies and reconstructed operational manufacturing facilities, such as outfitting quays, throughout the year", said the CEO.
In the outgoing year, the shipyard was focused mostly on construction of three trawler/seiners for the Lenin's Collective Fishery.
"In December, we signed a contract with Preobrazhenskaya Base of Trawling Fleet for construction of a large freezer trawler, which is to be the largest among all the fishing vessels contracted in Russia," said Efimov.
