During the next quarter it is planned to prepare the offer for renovation of format of the the Marine Board of the Government of the Russian Federation According to the member of the Marine Board Sergey Shishkarev, the potential of this body shall be fulfilled better, as reported by Arctic-Info news agency. According to the expert, the Marine Board shall increase Russian influence in the development of the world's ocean and assist in recovering the status of great scientific and technological state to Russia.
The special force of State Small Vessels Inspectorate of Southern Regional Centre of EMERCOM is established for ensuring safety of people on board the vessels in winter. The force consists of 83 patrol groups, 300 state inspectors, 59 vehicles, 5 snowmobiles and 4 hovercrafts. When the ice is melting, the risk of falling through the ice increases. Thus, inspectors of the State Small Vessels Inspectorate aim their efforts at the unauthorized ice ferrying and crossing control.
The interim director general of Zvezdochka Shiprepair Centre was offended and beaten in Severodvinsk. Now the offenders are being searched. The crime was committed on 22 February at about 9:00 p.m. MSK in Karl Marx Street. The director suffered brain concussion and injuries.
According to Dmitry Rogozin, slow construction of submarines, ships and weapons, as well as failure of the state defence order, will be penalized. From now on negligent shipbuilders and muddle-headed state customers will suffer a just punishment.

According to the decision of the Russian Navy Commander Viktor Chirkov, construction of the new ship will have been completed by early 2017. The hull for the new ship will be the hull of the Tumanfrigate of type 11540 Yastreb that was laid in 1990s but not finished. Now the hull is at the Yantar Baltic Shipyard.
The NS Columbus tanker of Novorossiysk Shipping Company was the first vessel of Sovcomflot certified in accordance with the Maritime Labour Convention of the International Labour Organisation (MLC, 2006). On 21 February 2013 based on the inspection results by the vessel flag administration the NS Columbus tanker of Aframax size intended for transportation of crude oil was granted a certificate of compliance with the Convention. The document is valid till 20 February 2018.
The terminals at the Nakhodka, Krabovaya and Vanino stations are not suitable for unloading fuel oil at low temperatures. More than two thousand of tanks have been left here. These tanks were sent to consignees even last year.
Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard signs the contracts for the construction of ten non-self-propelled dry cargo barges for transportation of bulk cargo, as reported by the press office of the company. The construction is financed under a leasing scheme: The customer of barges is Gazprombank Leasing, the lessee is P.TransKo.
On 26 February 2013, the Moscow Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Yard laid the keel of two buoyage vessels of Type 3050 (serial No. 216 and 217) for the Kamsky State Basin Authority for Waterways and Shipping, Perm. The vessels will be delivered to the state commission in August 2013. Buoyage vessels of Type 3050 and Russian River Registry class "*R 1.2" (river vessel, wave height 1.2 m) are built under the State Contract for the vessel construction within the programme "Service Fleet Renovation".
The Nevsky Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Yard started the harbour acceptance trials of the third vessel of ten serial dry cargo vessels "river-sea" with deadweight of 7150 tons of Type RSD49 (serial No. 403). The vessels are being built for the North-Western Shipping Company on the basis of the design developed by St. Petersburg Marine Design Bureau.
Ship-based Ka-27PL helicopter landed on the deck of the new Boiky corvette of Type 20380 for the first time, as reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the head of information department of press office of Western Command of the Baltic Fleet Captain Rank II Vladimir Matveyev. The crews of helicopter squadron of Baltic Fleet performed more than a dozen landings on the moving ship during the day.
Sevmash masters new science-intensive technologies in construction of nuclear submarines. The company started manufacturing the new steering gear for Kazan multipurpose nuclear submarine of Type Yasen-M. This complicated equipment is intended for controlling the ship rudders. Sevmash is already experienced in manufacturing similar equipment. It is now installed on board Severodvinsk multipurpose submarine.
