On 16 November, Sevmash, Severodvisk delivered the Vikramaditya aircraft carrier of type 11430 to the Indian Navy. The ship shall become a flagman of the Indian Fleet. The new aircraft carrier is the modernised Admiral S.G. Gorshkov ship, a heavy airborne cruiser of type 11434. However, Sevmash is not going to part with the ship once and for all. At the end of November, the Vikramaditya will sail to India. A team of 183 men will accompany the Indian crew in the course of sailing. The Russian team will remain at the Karwar naval base, which will be the aircraft home port, for one year.
After the two-year repair, the Smolensk nuclear submarine of type 949A Antey will have been handed over to the fleet by the end of this year. The shipbuilders will be able to complete sea acceptance trials and accompany the submarine crew to deliver the cruiser to her permanent location. Last month, they held harbour acceptance trials of steam-turbine plant using steam of external source. At the same time, they are testing the missile weapon system and finishing the interior. Within November, all preliminary operations are to be completed. The ship is to be prepared for procedure of reaching the first criticality of nuclear reactor.

The icebreaker of type Havyard 843 will be built for FEMCO shipping company, Russia, by Havyard shipbuilding company, Norway. The vessel will be constructed by Leirvik shipyard. The construction is to be completed in September 2015. The contract also provides for construction of an optional ship.

In the near future, Vyborg Shipyard (the Leningrad Region) plans to sign a contract for construction of a harbour icebreaker and a heavy tug for the Yamal LNG project. Vyborg Shipyard has become the sole participant, who reached the final tender part. The shipyard director general Alexander Solovyov previously estimated the construction cost of the icebreaker and tug at 150 to 170 million dollars.


A new ferry for the route between the mainland and Olkhon island will be bought by the Irkutsk Region. The project will cost over 252 million roubles. The corresponding tender is placed on the website of the Russian government procurement service. Maximum construction time of the ship is almost over 2.5 years. Minimum performance time is about two years, the maximum one is almost over 2.5 years. The customer is Directorate for construction and road service of the Irkutsk Region. 

The specialists from Russia, Finland, Norway, Belgium and other countries discussed the aspects of extracting natural resources and developing the Northern Sea Route to transport them. The second international conference "The Northern Sea Route", which was held in St. Petersburg on 14 and 15 November, welcomed a lot of participants of various fields: representatives of resource production companies (Gazpromneft, Rosneft, ExxonMobil), heads of regional authorities, scientists, ecologists, honorable polar explorers

On 18 November 2013, Federal Marine and River Fleet Agency, under the direction of the Rosmorrechflot deputy director Victor Vovk, held a meeting of the Working Group on coordination and scientific, technical and organizational support of Federal Target Programme "Development of Transport Infrastructure of Russia for 2009 to 2016" being implemented. One of the speakers was the director general of Marine Engineering Bureau, professor, doctor of engineering Gennady Egorov, who reported on the results of design study of river cargo-and-passenger ships for local lines with Ice 40 class: cargo-and-passenger ship of type RPF14 with crew capacity of 200 in number and two vehicles of type Kamaz; cargo-and-passenger ship of type RPF15 with capacity of 50 in number and one vehicle of type Kamaz

After successful state trials and acceptance, the Puteysky-704 buoyage vessel of type SV2407 sailed to the destination point of Volga-Don State Basin Authority of Waterways and Shipping. The ship was launched by the company on 10 October last year. The ship was designed by TekhnoFlot design bureau, St. Petersburg.

The crew of the Igor Belousov rescue vessel of the Russian Navy is being formed. The captain rank III Dmitry Koshevoi, who was an executive officer on board the rescue ship of the Alagez Pacific Fleet, may be appointed a commander. The Central Naval Portal reported on the news referring to the Central Administration of the Russian Navy. The Igor Belousov salvage ship of type 21300 designed by Almaz Central Research Marine Design Bureau and being built by Admiralty Shipyards, St. Petersburg, is intended for rescuing crews of submarines being on the ground or on the surface as well as for supplying air, power and rescue facilities to submarines and surface ships.
