Krylov State Research Centre has conducted successful trials of semi-submersible drilling rig CS 60 with an anchor acoustic positioning system designed by the MossMaritime Company, Norway. As reported by the press office of the State Research Centre, the rig is intended for standard operation under any conditions at a depth of 80 to 3 000 m. It is a twin-hull column-stabilized rig with two pontoons and six stabilizing columns to support the upper part. For positioning, acoustic positioning system with eight anchor lines is used.
Consolidation of the Union of Russian Shipowners and National Shipping Chamber is now legalised. The president of the National Shipping Chamber Alexei Klyavin announced this at the National Shipping Chamber Council on 15 October 2013 in Moscow. The Council members approved the Decree on Committees of the National Shipping Chamber and the draft agreements with the Russian Ministry of Transport, Rosmorrechflot (Federal Marine and River Transport Agency) and Rostransnadzor (Russian Federal Service for Transport Oversight). They also discussed issues relating to navigation along the Northern Sea Route, as reports Russian Shipping portal.

The Northwestern Shipping Company obtained 100.2 thousand of the Okskaya Shipyard ordinary shares, that is 33.39 percent of the authorised capital. The number and percentage of votes as regards voting shares are the authorised capital. The issuer received the right to dispose this capital after the relevant grounds appear (signing of an agreement on termination of the securities contract).

The Pacific fleet recruits crews of the Vladivostok and Sevastopol helicopter carriers of Mistral type. It is reported by the Murmansk news agency Bi-port. According to the representative of the Eastern Military District, post captain Roman Martynov, recruiting should be completed in November this year. He noted that "in addition to the standard selection procedures, a special commission pays much attention to the education level of candidates. Warrant officers and contract servicemen should have graduated at least secondary special schools. Strict selection will be also applied to the flight officers of Landing Helicopter Assault". 

On 23 October 2013, the Board of Directors of Krasnoye Sormovo Plant will consider the closing the St. Petersburg branch. According to Russian Shipping portal, in a panel session they also plan to consider the purchase contract for two tankers of type RST27 and construction approval for tankers of type RST27 serial No. 13 and 14.

Sovcomflot has preliminary negotiations with potential LNG suppliers on the use of LNG as marine fuel. Today, the only LNG production project in Russia is Sakhalin-2. Its operator Sakhalin Energy belongs to Gazprom. Preliminary negotiations are conducted with the biggest oil and gas companies providing services of LNG bunkering, namely Gazprom and Shell.

The Russian government will give state guarantees in the amount of 46 billion roubles on loans of ten defence organisations, as reports Rossiyskaya Gazeta (Russian Newspaper). Help will be provided for such enterprises as Severnaya Verf (Northern Shipyard), Admiralty Shipyard in St. Petersburg and Zvyozdochka in Severodvinsk. As per the document signed by the Cabinet of Ministers, the funds will be assigned by the end of the year 2013.

The lead multi-purpose modular boat of new generation (type 23370) constructed by the Kampo manufacturing plant (Tetis Group of Companies) is being prepared for state trials. Now, she is in the port of Lomonosov. According to i-mash, after the trials the boat will be included in the Russian Navy to be used as one of search and rescue boats.

Krylov State Research Centre won the tender for supplying electric propulsion system for icebreaker of type 22220.
The delivery set will include the following equipment:
- Main generators, 36 MW each (2);
- Main switchboard, 10.5 kW (1);
- Static frequency converter, 16 MW each (6);
- Main tandem motors, 20 MW each (3);
- Electric propulsion control system (1).
Besides, they will develop and master the assembly, adjustment and commissioning technique for advanced powerful and high-voltage electric equipment for electric propulsion systems and unified ship's power plants. This will allow obviating the need for buying similar foreign techniques and implementing the import substitution concept.

On 15 October 2013, ZNT Yard launched the third and fourth serial inshore boats for integrated search-and-rescue support (type 23040) built for the Russian Ministry of Defence, as reports the plant press office.

On 11 October 2013, Moscow Shipbuilding and Ship-Repair Yard laid a keel of the lead diving boat of type 14157, serial No. 105). It is the first of the three diving boats to be constructed by the Moscow Shipyard for the needs of the Russian Navy. The boat is designed by Vympel Design Bureau. The acceptance procedure is scheduled for October 2014, as reports the press office.
