The nuclear submarine of the new generation Vladimir Monomakh of type 955 successfully passed her first sea acceptance trials in the White Sea. The missile submarine had been at sea for 25 days, as reports the press office of Sevmash. As the production manager for military equipment Marat Abizhanov explained, a large scope of work was conducted and the mission programme was fully completed over this time. All the gears and main systems of nuclear submarine were tested. The Vladimir Monomakh submarine is the second ship of Borey type. "The trials of this submarine are easier than those of the previous ship of this type," noted Abizhanov.
Ozernaya Verf (Laky Shipyard), Schlusselburg, Leningrad Region, launched a patrol boat of type 14M. After the trials, the ship will start her passage to Moscow to participate in the 17th Interpolitex 2013 International Exhibition of Means of State Security Provision from 22 to 25 October 2013.

The Central Administration of the Russian Navy refuses to include the modern multi-purpose submarine Severodvinsk of type 885 Yasen. According to the Military-Industrial Courier, the Navy representatives are not satisfied with some technical issues revealed in the course of the submarine state trials commenced on 27 May this year. Although, as per the joint plan signed by the Navy and United Shipbuilding Corporation last year, the Severodvinsk is to join the Navy by the end of 2013. The Navy insists on postponing the date of the submarine delivery till spring 2014 to eliminate the main defects. The most important issue concerns the shafting line bearings. However, according to the shipbuilder, now all the defects are eliminated and the bearings run as intended.

Moscow Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Yard in cooperation with October Revolution Shipyard, Blagoveshchensk, handed over the buoyage vessel of type 3050.1, serial  No. 241 built under the State Contract for the vessel construction within the programme "Service Fleet Renovation" for the needs of Amur Waterways Authority.

Russian multi-millionaire Andrei Melnichenko sued Dulux company for defective painting of his superyacht. According to Maritime Bulletin, the total action is more than $100M.  As we know, the painting flew and came off the surface. Now, the yacht is being repaired in Westhaven Marina in Auckland, New Zealand Since 22 September, repair works have been performed by Asia Pacific Superyachts NZ.

The United Shipbuilding Corporation started implementing the orders of the leaders of the country and the government on providing accommodation for employees of the military-industrial complex. By the order of the Corporation president Vladimir Shmakov, they approved the Corporate mortgage programme for Severodvinsk and St. Petersburg for the period from 2013 to 2016. As reported by the press office of the Corporation, the first stage of the programme is constructing about 800 000 m2 of dwelling houses and corresponding infrastructure in the Arkhangelsk and Leningrad Regions. The pilot project of the programme will be construction of a 780-flat housing estate in district 209 of Severodvinsk.

V.F. Tanker Shipping Company accepted for operation another VF Tanker-22 tanker of type RST27, Volgo-Don Max class, sea/river deadweight 7030/5428 t) built in the town of Navashino.  The vessel became the 22nd tanker of the type obtained by the V.F. Tanker Shipping Company in 2012 to 2013 from two shipyards, Okskaya Shipyard and Krasnoye Sormovo Plant. The Manufacturer is Okskaya Shipyard. The designer is the Marine Engineering Bureau. According to the press office of the Marine Engineering Bureau, as compared with contractual deadweight of V.F.Tanker-11, which was 6980/5378 t, the new vessel outperforms its forerunner by 50 tons having deadweight of 7030/5428 t. The trial speed is 11.7 knots. Compared with other Type Ships of the Marine Engineering Bureau, the tanker of the new type RST27 is reinforced for river conditions having river deadweight increased by 716 t (compared with Armada) at: 
- Increased hull strength (sea class R2, or the area II as per the obsolete classification of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping)
- Almost the same fuel consumption
- The same increased capacity of cargo tanks

Sochi is getting ready to become the most modern cruise centre of the country, reports RBC referring to the press office of the mayor's office. The Olympic port will serve 75 voyages of the passenger seagoing ships for trips on the Black and Mediterranean Seas in 2014. Last year, there were 27 of them. The Director General of Sochi Sea Commercial Port Vladimir Derkunov told about this at the visiting session of the Council of the Federal Agency for Sea and River Transportation in Rostov-on-Don.

The Sovcomflot bulker NS Yakutia is sailing from Murmansk to the Chinese port of Linshan carrying 67 thousand tons of iron-ore concentrate by the EuroChem Trading. The bulker passed 2294 miles from Cape Zhelaniya (Novaya Zemlya archipelago) in the Kara Sea to Cape Dezhnev in the Bering Strait for fourteen days. The mean speed is 9 knots. Thus, the expected time saving compared with the transit passage through the traditional route via the Suez Canal is more than eighteen days.

The Northwestern Shipping Company obtained a licence for development, manufacture, testing, installation, assembly, maintenance, repair, disposal and implementation of weapons and military equipment issued by the Federal Service for Defence Contracts, as reports the press office.

According to the federal draft budget for 2014 to 2016, the United Shipbuilding Corporation will get 5.7 billion roubles to the authorised capital in 2016. Budget allocations are to be spent on reimbursement of interest on loans borrowed by the subsidiary Far East Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Centre in the Russian banks to implement the project "Creation of the Star Shipbuilding Centre", as reports Zolotoy Rog newspaper (Golden Horn). Also, in 2014, the United Shipbuilding Corporation can get 3.2 billion roubles from the budget for improvement of the Amur Shipyard, Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

The Sovcomflot has negotiations with a number of world owners of offshore hydrocarbon platforms to create a freighting venture for drilling platforms, as reported the Deputy Minister of Transport Victor Olersky. "These issues were considered by the Board of Directors of the company. They thought over entering the industrial shipping (use of LNG carriers) as well as the offshore fleet and marine drilling sector," said the Deputy Minister, who is the member of the Board of Directors.

The head of the FESCO transport group R.Sh. Alikhanov and the head of the Korea Marine Transport Company (KMTC) J.S Park signed a cooperation memorandum. The memorandum defines the main terms and conditions of the long-term cooperation up to 31 December 2016. As per the document, the Vladivostok commercial seaport, which is part of the FESCO transport group, will start accepting the ships of KMTС since October 2013.


Next summer, Zvyozdochka Shiprepair Centre will repair nuclear submarines K-391 Bratsk and K-295 Samara of type 971, Shchuka-B class. As reported by Lenta.ru, medium repair and thorough modernisation of submarines will be performed. It was said before that the Bryansk submarine will be repaired by the Northeastern Repair Centre in Vilyuchinsk, Kamchatka Territory. However, after the Minister of Defence Sergei Shoigu visited the company in March this year, they decided to assign another company for modernisation. The main cause is constant delays, which cost the Ministry of Defence 250 million roubles since 2008.
