The Stoiky corvette is completing the sea acceptance trials in the Baltic Sea. The ship was subjected to manoeuvrable and high-speed trials. They tested operation of all units, systems and assemblies, navigation and radio equipment as well as ship's weapons. In the course of these trials the acceptance team and the crew conducted surface and air firing. In the near future, using the fleet aircrafts they will hold the last operations within the sea acceptance trials to test the deck landing of the Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter.
The Vladivostok amphibious assault ship of Mistral class of the Russian Navy is making its first trial sailing from Saint-Nazaire, France. The Vladivostok is the first of the two Mistral-class ships ordered in France for the Russian Navy. Last Tuesday, at the conference call, Sergei Shoigu, the head of the Russian Ministry of Defence, said that now the military department is restoring the ship's amphibious force.
At the visiting session of the Committee for Economic Development and Support of Entrepreneurship in the Arkhangelsk region, Vitaly Kravets, the deputy director general on personnel management, said that Sevmash should increase the number of personnel up to 7.5 thousand. "We have a very large state defence order by 2020. Therefore, by 2017, we should increase the number of personnel up to 7.5 thousand people. Personnel of other areas will also be increased."
Under the Sovcomflot shipbuilding programme, representatives of the Russian leading shipbuilding and oil and gas companies held an annual coordination meeting. The main point of interest was the construction of LNG gas-carrier tankers and auxiliary vessels for maintaining oil and gas projects to be implemented in the Arctic region. The need in LNG gas-carrier tankers of different ice class can be more than thirty in number for 2016 to 2020. Following the meeting, it was decided to create a working group to study the possibilities of gradual localisation of construction headed by Mr. Rakhmanov, deputy minister of industry and commerce. They also discussed the possibilities of producing ship engines, hulls and other components in Russia.
On 7 March, Arctech shipyard, Helsinki, started sea acceptance trials of a new icebreaker Baltika. The ARC 100 Type ship was designed by Aker Arctic Technology.

At the end of February, Craneship Shipyard laid a keel of another complete ship (Type TAG 3150). The ship belongs to multipurpose tugs of ARC 4 ice class designed for escorting large-capacity vessels. The previous tugs of this series successfully operate at the Black-Azov, Baltic and Far East basins.

By 2017, Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant will have built and delivered two frigates of Gepard-3.9 type to the Vietnamese Navy. Thus, the Russian shipbuilders will execute contracts for construction of four serial ships for the Vietnamese Navy. At present, they are completing the construction, i.e. installing life-support systems. Also, the hulls are almost formed. In the coming months, they will start installing communication, navigation, and electronic systems as well as other equipment on board the ship. The sea acceptance trials are scheduled for 2017. They will be held at the Baltic Sea.
On 14 March, Yantar Shipyard, being a member of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, will launch the Admiral Grigorovich patrol vessel, the lead serial ship being built for the Russian Navy. She was laid on 18 December 2010. According to two contracts signed with the Russian Ministry of Defence, Yantar Shipyard will build a series of patrol ships of Type 11356. The designer is Severnoye Design Bureau. The vessel will have been built by 2017. She is designed for conducting combat operations in ocean and sea areas against surface ships and submarines, meeting attacks of air weapons both independently and as part of escort ships.
