On 19 July the Nevskiy Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Yard handed over the second MPSV07 Spasatel Kavdeikin rescue vessel. The vessel was ordered by the Federal Agency for Sea and River Transportation, Russian Ministry of Transport. The vessel was designed by the St. Petersburg Marine Engineering Bureau.

Sailing ship Sedov, the largest in the world has completed her circumnavigation. In the Saturday evening the bark was met at the Lieutenant Schmidt embankment. The ship was in sailing for fourteen months. She visited 32 ports of 24 foreign countries in Europe, Africa, Latin America, French Polynesia, and South-East Asia. Along with mariners, cadets and to-be-fishermen, there came home journalists and Mumiy Troll rock group led by its vocalist Ilya Lagutenko who prepared a new album during the sailing.

On 24 July, Vladimir Miklushevskiy, governor of the Primorsky Krai had a meeting with Mikhail Fedyaev, the president of the Siberian Business Union holding company. The sides have signed a cooperation agreement for building a new special-purpose Pacific seaport, according to Primorsky Krai administration pres office.
The 20M ton new coal terminal will be placed in the Sukhodol bay, the Shkotovskiy region. Vladimir Miklushevskiy highlighted that the project seems critical for development of Primorsky Krai and will make the seaport facilities available for small and medium coal miners.

On 25 July the Severnaya Verf shipyard laid keel of the first-in-series 20385 type corvette named Provorniy for the Russian Navy. The new ship will be the 12th so named in the Russian naval history.
The ship was designed by ALMAZ Central Marine Design Bureau. Provorniy is an upgraded version of type 20380. This type is represented by Stereguschiy, Boykiy (handed over by Severnaya Veft this year) and Stoykiy being prepared to sea trial.
There were contracted six type 20380 and 20385 corvettes, six type 22350 type frigates, 3 ARC4 ice class type 23120 support vessels plus two type 18280 communication vessels; all to be handed over by Severnaya Verf till 2020.

On 26 July PO SEVMASH laid the keel of the 4th generation nuclear-powered submarine named Novosibirsk. The event was attended by authorities, research and design institutions, shipbuilders, and the navy.
This will be the third submarine of the Yasen type (designed by the Malakhit Design Bureau). These nuclear-powered submarines will concentrate the latest unique Russian achievements in combat equipment, weapons, machinery, electronics and propulsion.

Design Bureau Lenmorniiproject has been visited by a Syrian delegation led by the CEO of Latakia seaport and adviser of the Syrian minister of transport. The conferees discussed engineering surveys and projects for expansion of the Latakia seaport and construction of the second part of the container terminal to process 1.5M TEU per year.
According to Vladimir Merzlikin, Lenmorniiproject CEO, the Syrian side is highly interested in cooperation as Lenmorniiproject is a member of the Russian-Syrian Intergovernmental Transportation Committee and possesses high R&D capabilities and practical experience in designing facilities for Syria.
The contract based on carried out explorations and surveys will be signed after all the technical and financial issues are finally settled.

In the run-up to the Russian Navy Day, the Admiralty Shipyards launched the type 18271 deep sea rescue vehicle Bester-1 for the rescue vessel Igor Belousov, according to SUN.
Bester-1 has incorporated a number of breakthrough engineering achievements. These include control systems, navigation aids, unified automated data system Bester, more powerful and completely innovative propulsors and rudders, innovative system for homing, attachment and fastening to disabled submarine, and of course the suction chamber to evacuate survivors when submarine heel is as much as 45°.
Some systems of the vehicle were designed by NPO Avrora, St. Petersburg where two crews of Bester-1 consisting of six operators are mastering the use of them. Operating depth of the vehicle will reach 700 meters.
