The boat is designed for patrol, rescue, investigation and search activities. The boat is the one and only in the Russian shipbuilding industry and is recognized as a state-of-the-art and powerful vessel of the kind as reported by press office of the Transport Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Northern Federal District.
The Strazh is completely outfitted with advanced computer and digital hardware: thermal imager, video recorders, GLONASS system for space and time orientation by means of satellite. Also, the boat is equipped with a radar for continuous communication and the Inmarsat positioning system. The new boat costs nearly 46 million roubles.



The Arctic Floating University-2013 started its second voyage from Arkhangelsk on board the Professor Molchanov scientific and research vessel belonging to the Northern Territorial Administration for Hydrometeorological and Environmental Monitoring. The voyage is planned for the period from 2 July to 26 July. The route passes through Arkhangelsk – White Sea – Barents Sea – Kara Sea – Novaya Zemlya Islands – Cheluskin Cape – Severnaya Zemlya Islands – Vize Island – Frantz Josef Land – Novaya Zemlya Islands – Dvina Gulf – Arkhangelsk as reported by press office of Northern Territorial Administration for Hydrometeorological and Environmental Monitoring. Now, ice conditions of the Kara Sea can be dangerous and thus another route is also planned: White Sea – Barents Sea – Northern part of the Kara Sea visiting Bugrino, Bely Nos Cape, Fedorov Cape (Vaigach Island), Frantz Josef Land (Haysa, Champ, Gukera Islands) – Cape Zhelaniya – Vize Island – Golomyanny Island – Arkhangelsk.



Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the commander-in-chief of the Myanmar Armed Forces, visited Admiralty Shipyards during his working tour to St. Petersburg. During the meeting he mentioned that he was very pleased to see the oldest shipbuilder of the city and said that he hoped for future cooperation. "We are looking forward to successful cooperation of our countries in joint shipbuilding projects," noted Senior General.



On 29 June the new Trikand frigate of Yantar Baltic Shipyard was handed over to the Indian Navy. Thus, construction of type 11356 ships for the Indian Navy had been successfully completed as reported by the press office of the United Shipbuilding Corporation).
The Trikand was laid on 11 July 2008. It is the last of three type 11356 ships built by Yantar Baltic Shipyard. The construction contract was concluded in 2005. The first Teg ship was handed over on 27 April 2012, and the second Tarkash frigate on 9 November 2012. Type 11356 ships were designed by Severnoe Design Bureau. First three ships were built at the Baltic Plant, St. Petersburg.



The Neva-Leader 5 was launched on the slipper of Nevsky Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Plant. It is the fifth of ten RSD49 self-propelled dry cargo vessels built for the North-Western Shipping Company. The vessel was designed by the St. Petersburg Marine Design Bureau.
Type RSD49 vessel designed for transportation of hazardous cargo of class 1, 1.4S, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8, 9 as per the International Regulations for Marine Transportation of Hazardous Cargo and Appendix C of Naval Code in the Caspian Sea as well as the Mediterranean Sea, the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea, the North Sea including passages over Europe and the Irish Sea in winter.



On 28 July the push tug boat of type 81 was laid at the Srednenevsky Shipbuilding Plant. The main feature of the boat is ARTICOUPLER KVC3545 frictional coupler by Taisei Engineering Consultant Inc, Japan, allowing significant relative rolling of the tug boat and barge and thus making it possible to use the tug boat and barge in the nearest sea area as well as to reduce the time required for coupling/uncoupling the tug and barge down to 30 seconds. Two directional thrusters controlled from the pilot room are used as a steering device. Thanks to directional thrusters the tug boat features high maneuverability thus being quite simple in operation.



The second Bavly tanker of type RST25 started its first voyage. The ship was built by A. M. Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant. The plant is a member of the Ak Bars Holding Company. The customer of two river-sea tankers is Nafta-Invest Company. The project was financed by Ak Bars Leasing. Type RST25 ship was designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau.

The launching ceremony of the Koida 2 full-freezer trawler of type 50010 took place at Zvyozdochka Shiprepair Centre. The construction programme at the defence shipyard for fishing fleet was started in 1995. Type 50010 ship was chosen as a base ship designed by Sckhuna Central Marine Design Bureau, Kiev. The project was implemented with the active assistance of Arkhangelsk Region Administration, which provided loan guarantees for ship construction and quotas for bioresource catching for newly constructed trawlers as reported by press office of the plant.

Over four hundred and fifty participants visited the 4th International Maritime Defence Show in St. Petersburg. Among them there were 89 foreign companies. This year the Show took place in four Lenexpo halls, which is 17 thousand square metres. The leading domestic and foreign companies represented naval engineering products to experts and guests of the Show. The Sea Passenger Terminal welcomed 36 ships and boats.
