The United Shipbuilding Corporation formed the largest stock of orders of the Russian shipbuilding INFOLine made the INFOLine Shipbuilding Russia Тор rating containing the largest Russian shipbuilders. Herein shipbuilding plants and shipyards are ranged according to financial characteristics and tonnage and cost characteristics of vessels both already delivered to customers and being under construction.
As regards characteristics of this stock of orders the largest shipyards are those of the United Shipbuilding Corporation. The research was made as on January 2013 according to the total assessed value of orders being carried out. At the same time the companies involved in the major Russian defence orders of high cost or the same companies building export ships can be seen at the rating's top lines.
Baltic Shipyard completed repair of engines and boilers of Indian INS Vikramaditya. This was announced by Alexander Voznesensky, CEO of Baltic Shipyard. Now the Indian aircraft carrier is in the Arkhangelsk Region at Sevmash Company. By 15 November 2013 the ship is expected to complete all final trials to be handed over to the customer and to be prepared for further passage to India.
Sevmash and the Russian Ministry of Defence signed the contract for repair and modernization of Admiral Nakhimov. Sergey Marichev, the senior deputy director general of Sevmash, stated that the scope of works for the Admiral Nakhimov nuclear guided missile cruiser could be compared with that for repair and modernisation of INS Vikramaditya aircraft carrier. Admiral Nakhimov is to become the most advanced Russian nuclear guided missile cruiser, as it will possess the up-to-date weaponry that passed the corresponding tests. The first modernisation stage is dry docking scheduled for 2014. Under the contract the ship is to join the Russian Navy in 2018.
The meeting of the Marine Industry Collegium took place in the presence of the Government of the Russian Federation Under discussion were the questions of strengthening the role of the Collegium in the development of marine component of the economic potential of the country, in the development of Russian shipbuilding and in the placement of shipbuilding orders and production orders for marine equipment required for developing continental shelf resources at the Russian shipyards; and in the improvement of government support for the industry.

This orthodox tradition has existed since tsarist Russia. Priests consecrated ships built on slipways and held onboard prayer services before the ship goes to the sea.
Vladimir Monomakh is the third missile carrier of the Borey type Vladimir Monomakh was laid on 19 March 2006 at Sevmash. The submarine will be equipped with a new missile system with Bulava intercontinental ballistic missile. Vladimir Monomakh strategic nuclear submarine cruiser was launched on 30 December 2012. The submarine is to pass harbour, sea and state acceptance trials.
According to Sea News, Vladimir Putin signed a law to simplify border crossing by trading vessels except for fishing ones. Thus, the following documents were amended: "On the state border of the Russian Federation", "On entry to the Russian Federation and departure from the Russian Federation", "On inland waters, territorial sea and included areas of the Russian Federation". According to the law, after border and customs control all foreign pleasure and sport sailing vessels will be able to sail in inland waters and territorial sea of the Russian Federation without additional control in every seaport. Forbidden and temporary dangerous areas are the exception to the rule. The above said vessels are to inform border services about the areas they are going to sail.
Rosmorport State Corporation and St. Peter Line Limited Company signed time charters for Princess Maria and Princess Anastasia ferries to use them as floating hotels from 5 to 24 February 2014 in Sochi seaport to accommodate spectators and temporary staff during the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi next year. St. Peter Line Limited Company is one of the three winners of the open request for proposal made by Rosmorport in 2013.
Shovik Group Company, Norway, plans to invest the development and modernisation of Karelian Fishing Fleet. The head of the company Odd Chepl Shovik showed regional authorities the investment project to be realised in Karelia (Source: Rossiyskaya Gazeta (Russian Newspaper)). Shovik Group Company has already bought the modernised fishing factory trawler for the Karelian Marine Products Company used for catching ground fish like cod, haddock, pollack, halibut, perch in the northeast Atlantic.
