Krasnoye Sormovo Plant commenced trials of the tenth tanker of type RST27 launched on 23 April. The company specialists together with the customer's representatives will check the work of all the ship's systems and mechanisms, measure speed and maneuvering features as well as test the propulsion system. The tankers were designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau, Odessa and classed by the Russian Maritime Register as KM Ice1 R2 AUT1-ICS OMBO VCS ECO-S Oil tanker (ESP). The draft design was prepared by the Volga-Caspian Design Bureau, Nizhny Novgorod.
The Vikramaditya aircraft-carrier, which is now in the flooded dock of Sevmash, was shown to reporters. In April the shipyard succeeded in tough operation on the transfer of the ship from the berth to the dock. Now, specialists inspect the ship bottom: - Bottom-board equipment.- Propeller-rudder system. The paint coating will be partially restored. After the scheduled maintenance, the ship will be prepared for sea acceptance trials, which will begin on 3 July in the White Sea.
On 14 May Moscow Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Yard launched the lead crew boat Katran of type 21770 (serial No. 092). The harbour and sea acceptance trials are expected to take a month; thereafter the boat will be handed over to the customer, Yantar Baltic Shipyard, for the Russian Navy. The boat was designed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau.
