Shipbuilders of Zvyozdochka Shiprepair Centre, Severodvinsk, will perform a full modernisation of six nuclear-powered attack submarines of type 971 of the third generation to the generation level 3+. As per the signed contract, Zvyozdochka will repair and modernise two serial ships, the Leopard lead submarine and the Volk. The Leopard is planned to be delivered at the end of 2014. The modernisation will be large-scale providing a new ship of type 971M. "Such a large scope of modernisation on board the nuclear submarine is the first experience for the shipyard in its post-Soviet history, as reports the press office. Modernised will be almost all the systems: navigation, sonar, weapon, main propulsion, turbines". In this case, the Severodvinsk shipyard will update not only submarines in the Northern Fleet, but also the Pacific Fleet ships.
On 8 April, Krylov State Research Centre, one of the worldwide leaders in research of shipbuilding and navigation, and Nordic Yards company, one of the worldwide leaders in he special shipbuilding, signed an Agreement on research and technical cooperation, as well as a number of contracts for particular projects provided for a joint work under design and construction of complex, high-technological ships and structures for Russian and European customers. End-use customers of ships are leading international and Russian companies: Alstom, Sakhalin Energy, Yamal LNG. As well as Russian government institutions: Rosmorrechflot, Russian Ministry of Defence. For Alstom and Rosmorrechflot, they already prepare design documents.
Russia and Venezuela can commence construction of small tankers and boats at a new shipyard near the Orinoco river, announced the head of Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov in the interview for the Russia 24 TV channel. "For 2.5 years, colleagues conducted research to see which ships can be and should be built (under the project) and which ships are in demand. We understand that these tankers are of a small size (about 30 thousand tons) and that there is a wide range of boats of the class," said the Minister.
One of the largest Russian nuclear icebreakers, the 50 Years of Victory, is put for leasing. The icebreaker is proposed to be leased for cruise voyages. The day will cost 1 million 925 thousand roubles, VAT excluded.

The number of the fifty vessels of different purpose, type and size (from marine cruise liners to supertankers) selected by the oldest world community of shipbuilders includes two lead ships, the V.F. Tanker-1 and the Neva-Leader-1 designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (types RST27 and RSD49, respectively). Both vessels were ordered by the V.F. The ships serial No. 219 and 220 are built under the State Contract for the vessel construction within the programme "Service Fleet Renovation" for the Northern Dvina State Basin Authority for Waterways and Shipping, Kotlas.
Recovery of steam boilers on board the Indian Vikramaditya aircraft carrier is being completed. In summer, the ship will pass final acceptance trials with the Russian and Indian crews on board, as said Alexander Fomin, the head of United Russian Delegation at the International Defence Exhibition of Brazil LAAD-2013 to Ria Novosti. The official acceptance ceremony of the Vikramaditya (former Russian Admiral Gorshkov) by the Indian side was scheduled for 4 December 2012. However, in September, during the next stage of the ship trials, they revealed a number of faults. Among them were the failure of steam boilers of the main propulsion. Because of this, the acceptance date was shifted to 2013 (according to the Sevmash data, 15 November), and there was a possibility that India would fine Russia. However, as previously reported, it did not happen.
The Boiky corvette of type 20380 successfully passed state sea acceptance trials at the combat ranges in the Baltic naval base of the Baltic Fleet. Representatives of the shipyard trial crew together with the ship crew and members of the state inspection board under the leadership of its chairman, captain rank I, Victor Ivanov, held manoeuvrable and high-speed trials of the corvette, checked all the plants, systems and units, navigation and radio equipment as well as the ship weapons. In particular, they checked missilery and gunnery by hitting surface and air targets, carried out torpedo firing and deep bombing, tested the landing of the Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter onto the deck and the ship air defence.

If they are completed successfully, by the end of the year, the submarine will be included into the Russian Navy, as reported i-mash. In summer, the Severodvinsk will put to sea to continue sea trials, and in autumn, she will be subject to state trials.
