On 4 March, they started training the Indian crew of the Trikand frigate built in Kaliningrad for the Indian Navy. The crew of 208 sailors and officers of the Indian Navy began their theoretical lessons at the Naval Academy in St. Petersburg. The theoretical practice will last till 30 March, after which the crew will arrive in Kaliningrad for practical training. The Indian crew will do practical training in the base of Baltiysk and on board the frigate. It will last for a month, starting from 1 April.
The representatives of the Baltika Shipbuilding Company, customer, visited Sevmash to monitor the construction progress on board the second ocean motor yacht. All the ship's systems and mechanisms were installed. SPO Arktika completed wiring work. In total, they laid about 100 km of cables, thus making it possible to use standard lighting on board the megayacht. Now Dutch and German contractors commenced their work consisting in ensuring tightness of all the superstructure tiers. Among the things conducted are installation of sliding splash-proof doors and glazing of the ship. Poland contractors will soon finish the crew cabins and service rooms.
The first blockout of the first of the three icebreakers (Type 21900 M ships) being built by Vyborg Shipyard was put to the uncovered slipway. On 6 March, the second blockout will be put. Total weight of two blockouts is about 600 t.
The keel-laying ceremony of the Admiral Butakov frigate, the third serial ship of type 11356 will took place in the covered slipway of Yantar Shipyard on 20 March 2013. At the moment, the shipyard carries out works on board the lead frigate, Admiral Grigorovich, on board the first and second serial ships, Admiral Essen and Admiral Makarov, respectively. The lead frigate will be launched in autumn and to handed over in 2014.
Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant signed an agreement with P.TransCo on construction of six tugs of type 81. Acceptance of the ships is scheduled for April and May 2014. The push-tug of type 81 features full displacement 365 t, length 25 m, width 10 m. The ship is designed for pushing and short-term (emergency) towing of barges of type 82 with full displacement of about 5200 t and speed of 10 kt. The ship is equipped with the ARTICOUPLER KVC3545 coupling unit by Taisei Engineering Consultant Inc.
The Northwestern Shipping Company obtained a credit line for NOMOS BANK with a limit of indebtedness in the amount of 780 million roubles (percentage of the asset value to be 25.19). The credit will be used for replenishing the current assets. The disbursement period is from 4 March 2013 to 3 March 2016 inclusive. The amount of interest accrued is 292.5 thousand roubles, as reports the company Press Service.
The Sevmash shipbuilders jointly with MKS company, OEM for interior of the ship, including VIP cabins, started arrangement of commander's cabins on board the Vikramaditya aircraft carrier, as reported by the MKS press office. The agreement between MKS and Sevmash was signed at the end of February. The scheme offered by MKS for furnishing the admiral's compartment, admiral's and commander's cabins are approved by the Joint Staff of the Indian Navy: they agreed interior design, furniture modification and materials to be used.
After revealing some violations of the state contract, the Military Prosecutor of the Northern Fleet succeeded in getting back 35 million roubles transferred to the dishonest contractor SeverStroy. The customer's officials signed acceptance documents for excessive scope of work on road reconstruction at one of the Fleet military units. The damage in the amount of 1.2 million roubles was compensated to the state. Also, SeverStroy paid back over 33 million roubles to the Ministry of Defence, which is an advance payment for construction of a military facility in the same military unit.
