During the final panel of the Ministry of Transport, particular attention was paid to information on Russian sea ports development.
Transshipment in the Russian sea ports in 2017 increased by 8.9% compared to 2016 and reached 786.4 million tons. It has become known at the final panel of the Ministry of Transport, reports the press-office of the Rosmorport State Corporation.
"During the reporting period, a series of investment projects was implemented resulting in increase of the Russian sea ports capacity up to 22 million tons," the statement says.
In particular, construction of Sabetta sea port continued in 2017: construction of the root section of southeastern ice barrier 2800 m long and shore-based facilities was completed. In December, the first LNG and gas condensate was shipped from the Yamal LNG terminal of Sabetta sea port to the gas tanker Christophe de Margerie.
The volume of cargo transportations in the Northern Sea Route made up 9,932 thousand tons (+32.8% compared to 2016) including the transit transportations of 194.4 thousand tons, according to the Rosmorport.
Besides, detail designing and construction of international marine terminal for cruise and passenger ships in the town of Pionersky have commenced. Besides that, development of design documentation for construction of shore and marine
infrastructure complex in Gelendzhik sea port is completed.
