State Atomic Corporation intends to dispose of the tanker which has rested half-sunken with its midship portion aground in the hollow of Zeleny Island in the Pala Guba of the Kola Bay since 1998.
Rosatom State Atomic Corporation announced an open electronic tender for disposal of the type 1783A TNT-8 tanker. According to the public procurement portal, the maximum contract price is 77 million rubles. The disposal is scheduled to be completed by 30 November 2019.

The type 1783A TNT-8 tanker with full load displacement of 1933 tons and lightweight displacement of 1866 tons is not in service and since 1998 has laid half-sunken with its midship portion aground in the hollow of Zeleny Island in the Pala Guba of the Kola Bay.
According to the Western Military District Headquarters'report, radioactive waste materials, POL, property, documents, explosive and flammable items and materials were disembarked from the TNT-8 tanker, and holds, pipelines, fuel/oil tanks were drained prior to leaving the tanker on Zeleny Island.
