Repair of an oceanographic research vessel of the Baltic Fleet "Admiral Vladimirskii", which was made for distant sea campaigns, is complete at the Kronstadt sea plant. The vessel went to the place of habitual base in Ust-Rogatka - a sea part of the Petrovsky canal, as it was reported to TASS on Wednesday in the press service of the Kronstadt sea plant.
"Repair of the main and auxiliary engines, serving systems, ship electric equipment, pumps, radio stations, life support system was carried out on the vessel", - press service of the plantspecified.
The vessel is moored at the wall of the plant in the end of September. Preventive repair lasted about a month. Soon "Admiral Vladimirskii" will go to the next campaign.
From the moment of launch it took several expeditions, including Antarctic ones. Since 1982 to 1983 the vessel was in a round-the-world travel - the research of bottom relief, water temperature, currents in poorly studied areas of the oceans adjoining Antarctica was conducted. From November, 2015 to April, 2016 "Admiral Vladimirskii" was in the Russian Navy's Antarctic expedition, which occured for the first time in 30 years.
The oceanographic research vessel "Admiral Vladimirskii" was constructed in Poland. It was launched in 1975. Ship length - 147.8 m, width - 18.6 m. Displacement is more than 9 thousand tons. The vessel can be in autonomous swimming up to one and a half months.
