NOVATEK-Murmansk is building a shipyard for construction of gas liquefying plants on the western shore of the Kola Bay. The first stage of the yard is expected to be commissioned in summer or fall 2019.
This was reported by the Governor of the region Marina Kovtun when reporting to deputies of the Murmansk Region Duma on the activities of the regional government in 2017.

"Today we have a strong confidence that the Murmansk Transportation Hub development project will be completed on time. Implementation of this project, as well as the projects of the Kola Mining and Metallurgical Company, Apatit branch in Kirov, Kovdorsk Mining and Refining Plant, and NWPC, all associated with development of the ore mining base and modernization of existing processing facilities, and also construction of the icebreaking fleet plus a number of other projects – all this makes us fully confident to say that our region becomes a stronghold for development of the Russian Arctic area and the largest logistics center of the Russian North. This is seemed as the strategic mission of the region," – stated Marina Kovtun.
