Exercises with participation of rescue ship Alagez and underwater rescue vehicle AS-30 were held in the Avacha Gulf.
Under the second training element K-2, the crew of Pacific fleet's rescue ship Alagez practiced in the Avacha Gulf in rescuing a bottomed submarine. During the exercises, readiness of the crew and rescue equipment for their regular missions was proven, reports the press-office of the Ministry of Defence.
The deep sea rescue vehicle AS-30 was involved in the exercises. In the course of the practice at the sea range, the rescue vehicle was launched from the mother ship and carried out the search of a dummy submarine bottomed at more than 80 meters.
The crew of the deep sea rescue vehicle inspected and cleared disabled submarine's coaming platform, then approached and attached the vehicle to it and then practiced in submarine crew evacuation.
During the exercises, AS-30 attached five times to the dummy submarine. Remotely controlled underwater vehicle Tiger was employed to observe operations of the crew.
